The grid is tiled and distributed by Rural Municipality name (129 datasets). Purpose: The purpose of the product is to provide users with a generalized representation of the province's DLS quarter-section fabric. It is intended for general parcel referencing only. Supplemental_Information: The DLS parcel boundaries for the township and section limits contained in this product were derived either from offset from the centre lines of government road allowances appearing on geo-referenced orthophotos or from digitization of 1:50,000 NTS map sheets. All quarter-section boundaries were generated by mathematical quartering of the sections by computer software. As such the depicted boundaries may not be consistent with those that would be generated using standard survey practices or survey fabric information shown on registered plans of survey or other survey measurement based products. The positional accuracy of the DLS boundaries contained in the product varies from plus or minus 5m to plus or minus 150m on average depending on the data source and methods used in the product generation in any specific area of the product. The positional accuracy is weakest in those areas where there were no visible government road allowances on the orthophotos used in the product's compilation. USERS SHOULD CHECK THIS WEBSITE PERIODICALLY FOR A PRODUCT REPLACEMENT NOTICE Data is subject to prescribed terms and conditions of use available at time of data acquisition from the data source. The data t is a generalized map representation. The DLS parcel boundaries within the product are not based on registered survey plans nor original township survey or retracement and have been mathematically generated, adjusted or manipulated. As such the data must not be interpreted by the user as defining the true location of any parcel's boundaries on the ground, nor its true size and area. Annotation shown on these cadastral products is intended as information only and is subject to human error. Process_Step: Process_Description: The original version of this product was produced for government by a private sector firm under contract circa 1996-1999. It is currently under revision (Nov. 2003) Methodology: Spatial referencing for this product was by establishment of GPS ground control for 1:60,000 scale aerial photography conducted under sub contract by a private sector land surveyor firm to the product's creator. The product is based on the resulting georeferenced digital orthophoto images. The DLS section data was created by laying off and intersecting boundaries parallel to the center-lines of the Dominion government road allowances appearing on the orthophotos and generating 4 points for each section. A Microstation application was then used to mathematically quarter the section, draw applicable boundary lines and add appropriate labels and annotation. Where visible road allowances did not appear on the orthophotos NTS 1:50,000 map sheets were used to interpret road allwance locations.
