Description
Abstract
The Natural Regions digital boundary layer was originally created in 1997. The layer was created using 1997 soils, 1997 suficial geology and climate layers. It was built for the Protected Areas Initiative for the Manitoba Government. The file also took the Ecoregions of Canada and further defined them. This file has been cleaned using ArcInfo and is topologically built.
Purpose
This boundary file was created to provide a scientific background to the enduring features approach to acheive representation in the Province of Manitoba for the
protected Areas Initiative. More detailed written documentation is available from Parks and Natural Areas.
Supplementary Information
These boundaries are not to be used as a legal definition. Please obtain a legal surveyed plan from the Manitoba Conservation Surveys and Mapping Branch if required for legal use.
